If you have Evacuation equipment or are considering purchasing it you will need to provide training on the equipment as required by government legislation.

This will ensure operators are as well prepared as they can possibly be ensuring no surprises or concerns are evident prior to providing the safe evacuation of the passengers who require assisted evacuation from the building.

Evacuation Chair Training is a Legal Requirement 

Once your building has been assessed for its assisted evacuation needs and evacuation equipment has been adopted for use for its occupants required assisted evacuation needs, you must:

  • Provide trained operators to use this equipment
  • Ensure trained operators are available at any time of need
  • Deliver enough operators for all the equipment you have on site
  • Ensure all opening hours are covered with trained operators of the equipment
  • Deliver a certified practical training session where attendees are assessed and signed off as safe and competent users
  • Ensure trained delegates practice at regular intervals as required by the RRO 
  • Where trainers are trained by KFive ensure each training session delivered by these cascade trainers deliver the Five Factors of Evacuation standard on every course

This training will deliver a safe and comprehensive understanding of how to use an evacuation chair with a passenger load. 

What to expect

  • Delegates are required to experience the chair as both operator and passenger and will need to pass the Five Factors of Evacuation course supplied by KFive.  
  • Delegates who pass will receive a certificate showing successful completion of the course, and they will be certified for two years with practice requirements required and advised.
  • Operator Training is and must be a practical learning session delivered by a certified trainer.
  • Operator Training Sessions last 1 to 1 ½ hours

This is an in depth training course on the use of the equipment and legislation requirements of such and will afford members of your own team to become Cascade Trainers, allowing you to manage the requirements of trained operators within your organisation. 

  • Once the delegates have completed and passed this training course, they will be able to carry out their own Five Factors of Evacuation training sessions with other members of their staff. 
  • Train the Trainer Sessions are a mix of practical and theory and include testing and coaching sessions to ensure the required Five Factors standard is always delivered and achieved.  
  • Train the Trainer sessions can only be delivered by KFive Trainers and those who successfully pass will be able to deliver Operator training sessions to their colleagues.
  • Training Guide Workbook and Handouts will be provided at the start of the session, and these will be completed during your Train the Trainer session for your own use when delivering your own Five Factors of Evacuation sessions
  • Train the Trainer sessions will be 4/5 hours depending on the attending delegates requirements.

This is a set training day where KFive provide one or two trainers to site to deliver either of the Operator or Train the Trainer sessions on a multi session/personnel basis.

1 x Key Trainer Day for up to 6 delegates per session to max 4 sessions per day* @ £1500 + VAT (*only two sessions can be delivered if choosing cascade training)
