Top 5 Locations You Need a Stairclimber

June 25th, 2013

Stairclimbers are used to safely and efficiently transport wheelchair users up and down flights of stairs within a building. They’re not a permanent fixture of the staircase making them highly portable devices and essential equipment that many buildings rely on.

1. Hotels

With any building, health and safety is of paramount importance and hotels are no exception, you need to be sure that in the event of an emergency you can evacuate everyone from your building regardless of their ability. With this in mind you may well need the support of a stairclimber so you can be sure any wheelchair users or any staff or visitors who have fallen ill can be safely removed from the building quickly and efficiently.

2. Medical Offices, Centres and Hospitals

These are buildings which will cater to the needs of many people with many different disabilities on a daily basis so it’s essential they are equipped with all the necessary machinery to accommodate everyone whether this is for use in an emergency situation or simply for everyday use.

3. Senior Centres and Residential Homes

These are wonderful resources for elderly people, therefore it’s essential they have the ability to take full advantage of the services on hand without having to worry about any mobility issues. Providing a stairclimber for residents and visitors will allow them to make use of it whether they’re a wheelchair user or simply someone who struggles with stairs.

4. Retailers

Elderly or disabled people are much more likely to visit a retailer or shopping complex that provides them with an easy and stress free way of getting between levels whether this is a lift, an elevator or a stairclimber.

5. Homes

Having a stairclimber in the home or for use on the stairs in a block of flats will enable many people to stay within their home for years to come without the worry of limited mobility or restricted access to different levels within their home. It also provides everyone with the independence and the freedom we all deserve.

Here at K5 we are a family run business supplying an extensive range of stairclimbers for a number of applications. Along with our stairclimbing equipment we can also provide full training as well as a complete care and maintenance package, ensuring you have everything you need to make the most of your evacuation equipment.
