Basket Stretchers for Evacuation over Rough Terrain

April 7th, 2011

In an emergency situation, having the correct equipment can mean the difference between life and death. An emergency situation can arise in any location, meaning that your equipment needs to able to adjust and work effectively in all environments. Here at K5 Evacuation Chair and Access Products we understand the seriousness of having the correct equipment in an emergency situation, and as such we supply, train and maintain a variety of emergency specific products. Our basket stretchers are a key example of products which are effective and versatile.

Our current collection of basket stretchers have numerous advantages, the main one being versatility. The lightweight and easy-to-handle design of the stretcher enables the operator to drag, carry or lift patients across virtually any terrain. This is a vital feature for effectively dealing with an emergency which takes place in muddy, rocky and inaccessible terrains. This makes the basket stretcher ideal for emergency situations which take place in a quarry, building site, or mine where access and underfoot terrain is challenging.

With a weight restriction of up to 272kg – approximately 42 stone – the basket stretcher is able to withstand the combined weight of the patient, support equipment and if need be the operator themselves. The basket stretcher has an additional 4 point lifting bridle which permits the stretcher to be moved horizontally or vertically. These additional features enable the basket stretcher to adapt swiftly to any environment.

Here at K5, our basket stretchers have a spacious and padded interior. This is mainly for the patient’s benefit, as it increases their level of comfort. However, the excess space allows for vital equipment and rescue blankets which are both essential for the patient’s comfort and safety.

At K5 we genuinely believe that owning the correct emergency equipment could save someone’s life; it’s been proven time and time again. Our basket stretchers enable quick, efficient and safe transportation without any limitations occurring due to bad terrain. If you think that you would benefit from this versatile product then contact us today for more information. You can contact us on 01234 354 539 for reliable and impartial advice on all of our products.
